The Bannockburn Pavilion
Bannockburn, Illinois

The City of Bannockburn, Illinois contracted with Eifler & Associates, in association with Wolff Clements and Associates, Ltd., Landscape Architects, to design a public park and community center. After several meetings with the Village Board, it was decided to base the imagery of the new structure on architectural vocabularies such as historic local train stations, rustic homesteads and nation park pavilions. Eifler & Associates designed a new park pavilion to create an appropriate image for the park and to fit the needs of the community. The single story pavilion consists of a large community room with a fireplace and a covered porch, as well as bathrooms and a kitchen for public use. The community center is constructed of Wisconsin stone and cedar, and utilizes timber roof truss framing. Construction was completed in late 2002.
